Nurturing approach yields amazing results, and not just for gardens

Park Hill High School

We’re fortunate to live in a thriving community with varied and valuable resources and programs. As you know, learning about the number of hungry kids in the northland led to the creation of our nonprofit and partnership with the wonderful BackSnack program developed and administered by Harvesters.

Great schools are highly desired and most of us want to ensure our kids receive a thorough education, and are surrounded with caring and talented teachers. We were so pleased to read the recent ranking of the top 2,000 high schools in the nation and find one of our own, Park Hill High School ranked as 749th!!  Ensuring all our children are well-fed makes it more likely they will benefit from this quality education. Our final packing night for the 2016-2017 year was fantastic!

Our crews seem to be quicker. We’re getting closer to the 2,500 we feed each weekend, packed in a single two-hour shift. Thanks to KCI Rotary, Cerner Associates (with a super cute Dr. Seuss theme for 2017), and in a great coincidence, the Trojan Football Team from Park Hill High School. First time we ended a packing night with a shout out of “on the count of 3 lets all say “Feed Hungry Kids”. We’re fortunate to have such super and caring volunteers! Check out our website for the new dates, posted soon, beginning in Sept. of 2017
