12th annual Bill Cross 5k recap
Our annual 5K had a great turnout, generous sponsors and perfect weather! A record six dogs brought their owners and our friends from Altar’d State painted some awesome designs on faces. Thank you to our many sponsors whose generous contributions make this a fantastic fundraiser. As always, our friends at Zona Rosa provided a perfect course. Does it seem like you are spending way too much money and time at the grocery store? With food inflation at nearly 13%, we are all feeling the pinch. Imagine the difficult reality for our families living with a super tight budget! Read on for tips on ways to save money by avoiding supermarket tricks designed to encourage you to spend more.
Canstruction was energetic, creative and tasty!
We were fortunate to be the beneficiary of the first annual Turner Construction and Meta Canstruction event. 16 teams competed in a BBQ contest held at the same time. Several teams entered creative “builds” using canned food which was then donated to us! 5 full pallets, encompassing an estimated 8,000 cans of food will become a part of our Community Food Kit program feeding 400+ families each month.
Enthusiastic specialty bourbon drinkers were great supporters of a summer raffle held by Lukas Liquors, Wine & Spirits in Liberty. The $3,300 raised will help us tremendously. Cheers!
