Our spring brings a new director, continued great volunteers and exciting upcoming events!

Shoutout to our fabulous volunteers!

Like most organizations volunteers are vital to our success. With three robust programs, additional help makes our work possible. Enjoy these photos of our friends in action! If this looks like fun, visit our facebook page regularly, for additional opportunities.

It is time for the official “goodbye/hello”

Many of you may be aware our original and longtime executive director Chris Evans is leaving to expand her work in a family business. After 12+ years, a new director will join the organization and lead us into our next chapter.

Please join us in welcoming Gwen O’Brien as our new executive director. Chris and Gwen have been working closely in the past few weeks to create a seamless transition.

School lunch debt soars

Non-renewal of universal free breakfast and lunch is creating thousands of overdue school lunch accounts. This article outlines how local families are dealing with the challenge.

It’s time for the spring “food for fines” program with the Mid-Continent Public Libraries. We are honored to be selected as one of the nonprofits to receive food from library patrons.

A note from Chris

It has been my honor to be a part of Feed Northland Kids since our inception in the summer of 2009. Serving as executive director for the past 12 years allowed me the opportunity to cultivate relationships with thousands of wonderful people who came alongside us to ensure our hungry northland children had consistent and nutritious food. Building that network of involved northlanders will be one of my proudest achievements. Thank you for the many ways you’ve helped to “feed our future”. The mission continues!
