Every week, we are honored to work with local Kansas City companies and individuals to help ease the hunger in our midst. We’ve highlighted a few here:
Chicken N Pickle closing their property for the day and sending their employees into nonprofits. This crew packed 185 sack lunches and inventoried our pantry shelves.
Zona Rosa held a grand re-opening of their Central Park and encouraged children to bring mac and cheese cups for our in-school pantries. Start that philanthopic tendency early!
Shoal Creek Community Church and their Brown Bag Revolution program raised funds and food for several nonprofits in our area. Thrilled to partner with them.
What can you or your company do?
“Food shouldn’t be an impossible choice”.
Imagine what life looks like for the people who must choose between food and essentials like electricity and childcare. Would your eggs look like light bulbs? Your toast the prescription medications you need? This PSA from Feeding America reminds us to remember those who face this reality and do what we can to help through local nonprofits.
A new “Food for Thought“ pantry has been created inside South Valley Middle School. Two more are in process for Heritage Middle School & Heritage Middle School. Ensuring our middle and high school aged children have access to additional food is a large part of our programming!
Our 11th annual 5K is happening on Sunday, October 10th! Form a team and raise some funds. Join us for a quick run or a brisk walk thru the streets of Zona Rosa on a gorgeous fall morning and help us feed some kids!
Festa Italiana, a huge annual Italian festival will be held the same weekend as our 5K. Drop by our booth in front of Altar’d State, where you can sign up for the 5K Sunday morning, learn about what we do and purchase this amazing Northland shirt!
