The phrase “It’s Who You Know”, describes many things for us…….

The many facets of “who you know”

The work each of us do, put us in contact with a variety of people. In our case, we interact with hungry children and strive to attract individuals and companies in a position to help us feed each one.

There are a variety of ways to do this. Our friends Eric and Brian created an event “Who Knows Norm”, designed to help educate and involve their community of bike enthusiasts in our mission. More than 50 bikers came together on a rainy Saturday and raised $2,600! Lucky us, that so many who know Norm, now know us!! Find additional fun pictures on our facebook page.

Food Pantry

Winnetonka pantry impacts the school community

Our first in-school pantry finished the school year with product going home in larger quantities to help with summer food shortages. Launched on Sept. 11, over 150 different students have been served and several families were able to obtain much needed supplies.

Our inventory evolved as student needs and likes were discovered (SPAM was a surprisingly often-requested item). Students conducted a huge food drive and teachers and administration contributed food and made sure students knew who to contact and how to access the pantry. A huge thank you to our partners, Nourish KC, Backpack Shepherds and Church of the Good Shepherd.

Check our facebook page this summer for announcements regarding additional in-school pantries!
