FAQ

  1. Feed Northland Kids serves food-insecure children through three programs that provide nutrition they need to learn, grow and thrive. We partner with Harvesters to send BackSnacks – backpacks full of shelf-stable, kid-friendly foods – home with elementary-aged students on weekends and school breaks. Our in-school Pantries meet the immediate needs of middle and high school students (and a few in elementary school) with grab-and-go foods to power them through the day. And our Community Food Kits meet the needs of entire families with an assortment of shelf-stable items, including pasta, peanut butter, tuna, chicken, cereal, granola bars, and canned fruits, vegetables and soups, plus fresh bread and frozen ground beef. Some locations also feature a large box of fresh produce.

  2. Our volunteers help us feed kids in our community as cost-effectively as possible, ensuring that more dollars go toward purchasing food. Email us here and we’ll connect you with an opportunity that meets your schedule and interest, whether it’s packing or distributing food, hosting a home fundraising event, working at our annual 5K, or a special project. Your time can feed kids.

  3. How do you use your funds?

We work hard to minimize administrative costs. Nearly 80% of funds raised go directly to purchasing food for the children and families we serve.
